Kodai Senga ’s Brilliant Shutout Secures Mets’ Victory

Kodai Senga pitched a dominant seven-inning shutout, leading the New York Mets to an 8-0 win over the Oakland Athletics.

The Japanese right-hander threw only 79 pitches, allowing four hits, two walks, and striking out four batters.

All four hits were scattered in the first three innings, but Senga remained composed under pressure.

The Athletics had runners in scoring position in both the first and third innings but couldn’t capitalize.

Senga credited early double plays for getting out of jams without conceding a run.

“My anxiety is gradually decreasing. I’m at 80 to 90 percent of my best,” Senga stated post-game.

Luis Torrens opened the scoring with an RBI single in the sixth inning to break the deadlock.

He later hit an RBI double during a four-run ninth inning that sealed the dominant win for the Mets.
