“My Voice Is Being Suppressed in the House”: J-K AAP MLA Mehraj Malik Speaks Out

Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) (India), April 10 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party’s Jammu and Kashmir MLA, Mehraj Malik, accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of “resorting to hooliganism” and alleged that his voice is being “suppressed” in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly.

He also made a
controvers
ial statement on the late former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir,
Mufti Mohammad Sayeed
, blaming the latter for ” betraying” the Muslim community.

Malik told reporters in Jammu, “… I stand by my statements on
Mufti Mohammad Sayeed
… They cannot scare me… Mufti Sayeed has died, and it’s a fact. I have not used the words which they fear… He has betrayed the Muslim community. It is because of Mufti Sayeed that I am in this condition and

is resorting to hooliganism. If my voice is being suppressed in the house and if I am being attacked outside the house, it is because of

Earlier on Wednesday, a scuffle broke out in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly following comments made by Mehraj Malik on Hindus, leading to multiple MLAs being marshalled out by officials.

Reportedly, certain Bhartiya Janata Party MLAs objected to alleged comments made by Mehraj Malik, where he claimed that Hindus wear a ’tilak’ but sin all the time.

Reacting to the comments,
BJP
MLA Vikram Randhawa, who witnessed the brawl in the assembly, criticized Malik’s remarks.

He has offended Hindus today; can he act however he pleases? We will object to this as he has disrespected Hindus by accusing them of wearing tilak, committing sins, stealing from others, and consuming alcohol. We will make sure to inform him about the true actions of Hindus.

Mehraj Malik from the MLA faction likewise engaged in a intense dispute with PDP’s MLA Waheed Parra.

While talking with reporters, Malik said, “He tells me I have no respect or manners. Will he teach me?”
